The statistics on weight regain are this: roughly 9 out of 10 people that lose weight, later regain it.

I was part of that statistic for 20 years.

However, now I maintain my results with ease, with joy, with love.
(... and I have for YEARS now!)

Even though your weight loss goal is SO important to you, you seem to go 'off track' with cravings, when it's been a long week, or when you're feeling like nothing is working. (hey sister, I get it. I've been there!)

Having coached HUNDREDS of smart women, I've observed that there's a couple things that tend to steer women AWAY from making the decisions necessary to achieve their weight loss goals:

  • Intense Cravings
  • Self-Doubt and Declining Motivation (i.e. 'I've never been able to do this before'... 'it's taking too long'...'it's been a hard week')

HOWEVER, (the good news!) ...

THERE IS A TECHNIQUE that will make even the most intense cravings and self-doubt feel completely insignificant, which in turn allows you TO STAY OPTIMALLY FOCUSED ON YOUR GOAL and actually achieve it.

-YES, even in the face of cravings.

This week on the podcast I interview my client Laurence.

She joined the program to lose her last 10 pounds (literally).

These 10 pounds had been plaguing her for 14 years.

By the way, Laurence is a doctor, specializes in nutrition. AND is a certified life coach.

...and yet NONE of those things had helped her lose the last 10 pounds she wanted to lose.

In only 6 months inside the last 10 program she finally DID lose HER last 10 pounds.

THE ONE THING that enabled her to finally lose her last 10 pounds, will surprise you.

It won’t be what you expect.

She had to release perfectionism in order to release her last 10 pounds.

Laurence is a SUPER SMART, VERY DEDICATED woman.
And yet, she didn’t have to work ‘harder’ to lose these 10 pounds.  She had to be willing to release perfectionism.

She was finally able to put  an end to sabotaging.

ANDDD (in her own words) she was able to EXPERIENCE A FREEDOM SHE HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE.

It's tempting to believe that PERFECTION is what's required in order to achieve your weight loss goals...

... Especially the 'last' pounds!

This is one of the biggest misconceptions I see at the core of sabotage and weight re-gain.

Women believe that they will have to 'eat perfect',  in order to lose ALLL the weight they want to lose.

Women also believe that in order to MAINTAIN WEIGHT LOSS RESULTS the requirement will be to eat perfectly 100% of the time, and FOREVER.

Here's what you MUST KNOW * if * you want to stop sabotaging and re-gaining weight:

Perfection is NOT the solution.

PERFECTIONISM IS THE HEART OF THE PROBLEM.

You've GOT to listen to this episode in order to understand your yo-yo dieting cycles and weight re-gain with COMPLETE CLARITY.

Because once you understand the problem and the ACTUAL SOLUTION - you can get to work to finally change it FOR GOOD.

In order to become the version of yourself that you WANT to be (lose the weight, de-condition the habits, feel completely confident around food)...

you will have to LET GO of the version of you that isn’t that.

IF YOU EXPERIENCE RESISTANCE TO CHANGE AND SELF-SABOTAGE:
You will have to consider that instead of grasping on to your old identities (habits, beliefs, patterns) it is also possible, and much more effective, to know that it is 'ok' to release it, and then ALLOW YOURSELF TO FULLY TO GRIEVE THE THING YOU ARE LETTING GO.

Here's the thing...
Even the most desired change-
Is still change.

EMOTIONS COME UP WITH CHANGE.
-Grief is a normal and natural internal reaction to a perceived loss of any kind.
-There's often conflicting feelings caused by the end of - or change - in familiar patterns and behaviors.

IN ORDER FOR YOUR NEW IDENTITY (and new results) TO BE FULLY BORN, you'll have to let go of the current identity that is holding you back.

Permission to grieve these changes: GRANTED.

**YES, even the most desired changes. And it matters to do so. **

There's a good reason why 'The Holidays' can feel so dang challenging when it comes to weight loss (and maintenance!)

And that's because: FOOD, TRADITIONS, AND CULTURE CAN BE DEEPLY INTERTWINED.

Women spend their lifetime battling with Holiday weight gain.

White knuckling through the holidays. Not trusting themselves. Afraid to lose control at Holiday gatherings.

Sabotaging themselves despite their best efforts, AND believing that the ‘only solution’ is to completely miss out on foods and celebrations that are actually important to them.

ALL of this matters because it keeps you stuck in the weight struggle year after year. (not to mention, it steals your joy!)

IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.

You can deeply enjoy your Holidays AND the meaningful food traditions that are most important to you without the historical ‘holiday’ weight gain.

After decades of battling with my weight, I lost 80 pounds and have kept if off for countless holidays.
